The much awaited Paoli Mejias CD "Abriendo Camino" has arrived And like always, Mejias never disappoints. This time around Paoli delivers a totally different work from everything he has done before, in this work he not only shows his virtuoso percussion chops, he also sings his own compositions with confidence, sincerity and dexterity, showing that good hard work can be achieved to continue expanding your range. Paoli a resident now of Washington State, from Carolina, Puerto Rico continues to work his craft now as a composer and starting to enter the video world delivering videos for several of the songs contained in this CD. "Abriendo Camino" includes arrangements that defy explanation fussing rhythms together creating new patterns while remaining fresh and danceable. The lyrics talk about daily live, his ideas on politics, his passion for creating awareness to live your live to the fullest, respect others different points of view and simply to enjoy the music our universal language. "Ponle Sazon" his almost straight ahead son montuno, "El Papa del Nene" is a timba fueled fun tune featuring his son Branlie Mejias singing a duet with Paoli and also on timbales. "Metafisica Ancestral" a Bomba, is one of my favorite tracks wich is a new arrangement which was originally included in Paoli's DVD. "El Machete" his an exhortation to all the basically to your part, get to work on the things that matter, quit complaining and get to work.. But really you need to listen to the lyric content of this CD, not just only the mind blowing percussion talents of Paoli. This CD is available in digital format on Amazon.com
