The newest addition to the Seattle salsa scene is ex Latin Expression singer Alex Rivera and his Band La Sabrosona. Rivera is backup up by a Trumpet and flute horn section handled by trumpeter William Munoz from Puerto Rico, Javier Montilla from Venezuela on flute. Jeff Volkman on Bass and Jake Sele on Piano, anchored by Junior Medina on Timbales, Guillermo Padilla on Conga and Steve Guasch on Bongo. The front line of Las Estrellas Del Coqui

Las Estrellas Del Coqui "Hijos Del Tambor" is set to be released this Friday march 8th through Amazon. I want to take a moment and present to you the front line of singers of the band, they are: Hugo Maysonet, Lead singer, back-up singer and choreographer from Manatí, PR. He was born on the 1st of February 1955. He debuted in the salsa scene at the early age of 16 with Orquesta Joe Corretjer in 1969. During the 80's he formed part of Trópico, Toño Rosario, Conjunto Quisqueya and Aldo Matta among others. Charly Hernandez is back at Club Sur this friday march 9th with new repertoire as well as favorites and a couples of his new songs which will be featured in his upcoming CD from Salsaneo Records entitled "Distancias". Charly is a singer songwriter multi-instrumentalist from Veracruz, Mexico who delivers on stage a powerful mix of songs with the dancers in mind. Hernandez debut CD is a collaboration of taent from Mexico, Colombia and Puerto Rico.
